The Shasta
Trinity Fly Fishers and The Shasta Mayflies
The Shasta Trinity Fly Fishers and the Shasta Mayflies,
two local fly fishing clubs in
Northern California, are offering four Fish Camp
Scholarships to interested youth from Shasta, Trinity,
Tehama, and Siskiyou Counties.
Each $750 award
covers the entire cost of the 5-day program put
on by The Fly Shop® of Redding. The camp
teaches fly fishing and other outdoor skills in
a safe and friendly environment, and is held on
a private ranch outside of Weed at the base of Mt.
Shasta.
To apply for
one of the four scholarships, interested youth between
the ages of 10 and 15 who reside in one of
the counties named above must complete this application
form (117k .pdf doc) and attach two short essays
answering the questions listed on the application
form. Participants may also be asked to attend a
meeting of one of the sponsoring fishing clubs to
give a short presentation on their experience at
camp.
Applications
must be postmarked on or before April 1, 2009.
Four winners and two alternates will be selected
by April 15, 2009. All decisions will be final.

Jo Clark Youth Fund FISHCAMP™
Scholarship Program
The Golden West Women Flyfishers
Jo Clark Youth Fund is sponsoring two youths to
attend FISHCAMP.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Each scholarship applicant shall be between 10 and
15 years of age and shall have an interest in learning
to fly fish.
SELECTION:
FISHCAMP™ scholarship applicants shall submit
the attached application form and short essay described
in the application form to Judith Austin Brown at
155 North Redwood Dr., Suite 125, San Rafael, CA
94903. All submissions shall be postmarked no later
than April 1, 2008. The Jo Clark Youth Fund Committee
shall review all submitted applications and select
its scholarship recipients by April 15, 2009.
The Committee shall notify its selected
scholarship recipients by mail no later than April
30, 2009.

Flyfishing & Tying Journal FishCamp Scholarships
Flyfishing & Tying Journal and The Fly Shop are sponsoring several scholarships through an essay contest run through the magazine.
